The 2014 NBA defensive player of the year founded his Noah’s Arc Foundation to help young people. In a news release, the foundation says Noah will hold a news conference Friday at a community center to provide new tactics to combat gun violence. He plans to work with community organizations. Noah founded the foundation in 2010 with his mother, Cecilia Rodhe. She’s a sculptor and art therapist. The foundation says its goal is to give young people more opportunities to make an impact on themselves and the community....

Biden approved over two dozen recommendations, published Friday, by an independent review commission regarding sexual assault in the U.S. armed forces, according to the Associated Press. Military commanders will no longer have the authority on prosecution decisions for sexual assault cases. Instead, the choice goes to a special victims prosecutor outside of the military. “These special victims require and deserve all critical decisions about their case to be made by a highly trained special victim prosecutor who is independent from the chain of command,” said the commission’s report....

Jeter passed Honus Wagner on the career hits list with 3,431, getting an infield single in the sixth inning Saturday against the Cleveland Indians. Jeter led off the inning with a soft grounder off Corey Kluber that shortstop Jose Ramirez charged but failed to pick up with his bare hand. Jeter tied Wagner on Friday night with a grounder that Ramirez made a nice play on but the throw went off first baseman Carlos Santana’s glove as the Yankees captain crossed the base....
