Thursday afternoon NJ Devil, the New Jersey Devils’ mascot, tweeted at the popular late-night host for NBC asking if he wanted to make a bet regarding that evening’s matchup with the New York Rangers. The game pitted the Devils and 2019 No. 1 overall draft pick Jack Hughes against the Rangers and No. 2 overall pick Kaapo Kakko. Fallon, who hosts “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” is a well-known and vocal Rangers fan.
Fallon responded that he’d take that bet and would see the Devil on his show Sunday night after “Sunday Night Football.” Normally on Monday through Friday, this Sunday happens to be one of five special post-football airings of his show this fall.

Well, the Rangers lost.
In a hotly contested matchup, the Devils won their first game of the season with a 5-2 victory over their rival from across the river. After the game, NJ Devil, of course, went straight to Twitter to find out who is in charge of bringing the pie.
Fallon did own up to his bet and told the mascot on Twitter, “see you Sunday. A deals [sic] a deal.” Although, by 8:47 a.m. ET, Fallon was already regretting his deal with the devil writing, “I can’t believe I took this bet.”
