“This is a guy that, to me, over the past eight years has been the best all-around back our league has had,” Marshall said via NFL.com. “I think it’s going to be a treat for all of New York to just sit back and watch him really work.

“He does it all. He picks up blitzes, he puts his nose in there, he catches the ball out of the backfield. He has amazing vision. He’s a leader. He’s the type of guy you want in your locker room.”
Marshall and Forte have been reunited with the Jets after playing together with the Bears from 2012 to 2014.
Forte, 30, ran for a career-low 898 yards on 218 carries last season in 13 games. He also added 44 receptions for 389 yards with seven total touchdowns.
The Jets signed Forte this offseason to replace Chris Ivory, who bolted for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ivory was more of a power back, so Forte’s presence should help whoever winds up behind center for the Jets.
